What happens on a Discovery Call, and how does it help me choose the right website?

What the Discovery Call Is For
A focused chat to clarify what you need from your website, the type of build that fits your goals, and the pages and features that matter most. We’ll explore your branding and messaging, identify any issues with an existing site, discuss timelines, and outline your next steps.
The aim: clarity and confidence - never overwhelm.
Why the Discovery Call Matters
Every business is different. This call makes sure we start in the right place, choose the right package, avoid unnecessary costs, and map out a realistic project timeline. It removes guesswork so we can build the right structure, the right plan, and content that supports great search visibility.
What We’ll Cover on the Call
-
Your Business – what you do, who you serve, and how customers find you.
-
Your Goals – enquiries, sales, clarity, or a brand refresh.
-
Your Website Fit – service-led, hybrid, ecommerce, Signature, Premium or Website in a Day.
-

Before Your Call – What to Think About
Once you’ve booked, take a few minutes to consider the key points that will help shape a focused, productive conversation. You don’t need to prepare anything formal – just gather the details you feel are most useful.
It helps to think about:
-
your business and goals
-
any current website links
-
styles or examples you like
-
features or ideas you already have
-
optional extras you may want to explore
Bringing these points to the call ensures we can dive straight into what matters and make the most of your time.

Quick Read: TL;DR
What is TL;DR?
It means “Too Long; Didn’t Read” - a quick summary for fast scanning and voice assistants like Alexa or Siri that surface the short version first.
Summary
Book a time slot for your selected service call. You’ll receive a confirmation email and Google Meet invite once booked.
Discovery Calls are available after purchase only and are used to kick off paid work. If no suitable time is shown, you can get in touch directly.
Your Questions, Answered Clearly
These are page specific questions. We will have a site-wide FAQ section and search (and a friendly virtual Susi-bot) on launch.
How long are the calls?
Most calls are 15 minutes and are designed to be focused and efficient.
The Discovery Call is more in-depth and has up to 45 minutes allocated.
Is this a sales call?
No. Calls are used to understand your situation, clarify what you’re trying to achieve, and determine what will be most useful next. They’re practical and focused, not sales-led.
Do I need to prepare anything?
No preparation is required. If relevant, having your website address or a clear idea of what you’d like to discuss can help make best use of the time.
What if I already know what I want?
That’s absolutely fine. The call helps confirm scope, timing, and focus so expectations are clear from the outset.
Do you review my current website or business before the call?
If you share a website link or background information when booking or in advance, this will be reviewed where relevant to the service you’ve chosen.
What happens after the call?
Next steps depend on your situation and the service requested. This may include providing high-level insight, confirming scope for a report or project, outlining recommendations, or agreeing timelines before work begins.
Can I skip the call and go straight to delivery?
In some cases, yes – particularly if we’ve worked together before. For most services, the call is recommended to ensure the work is focused and based on the right understanding.
