The Sector Insight & Opportunity Report is a one-off, fixed-price piece of strategic work. Payment is taken in advance, with scope agreed before research begins.

Why most businesses benefit from this upfront

Most businesses don’t struggle because they lack ideas.

They struggle because time, money, and energy are limited, and it’s not always clear where those resources should be focused next.

The Sector Insight & Opportunity Report exists to reduce that uncertainty.

It helps you understand:

  • which directions are worth pursuing

  • which options are unlikely to pay off

  • where effort will have the greatest impact

  • how to avoid building or changing things based on assumption

The result is clearer planning, better prioritisation, and more confident decision-making – whether you’re shaping a new offer, refining your positioning, or deciding what comes next.

Why this matters

The Sector Insight & Opportunity Report is designed to reduce risk and bring clarity before important decisions are made.

It’s particularly useful when you want confidence before committing to changes in services, messaging, pricing, or a new website. By grounding decisions in a clear understanding of your sector, competitive landscape, and customer expectations, the report helps ensure that what you build or change is focused, relevant, and purposeful.

For many businesses, this upfront clarity is the difference between a website that simply looks good and one that communicates the right message, to the right audience, in the right way.

What this gives you

The Sector Insight & Opportunity Report is a detailed, in-depth analysis of your sector, designed to show how your market actually operates today and where realistic opportunities exist.

Rather than surface-level summaries or generic market commentary, the report focuses on how businesses in your space are positioning themselves, how customers are choosing between them, and where there is genuine room to differentiate or refocus.

The emphasis is on interpretation, insight, and opportunity, not raw data.

What the report can include

Each report is tailored to your business and agreed priorities, and may include:

  • the current shape of your sector (UK-wide or defined regional focus)

  • degree of market saturation and competitive pressure

  • competitor positioning and common patterns

  • customer behaviour, expectations, and decision drivers

  • viable niches or underserved areas within the market

  • trends that materially affect demand, delivery, or perception

  • opportunities for differentiation that are realistic and achievable

  • strategic implications for services, positioning, and next steps

  • considerations for website structure and visibility where relevant

Shaped around what you need

This is not a fixed, one-size-fits-all report.

As part of the initial discussion, you can request deeper focus on specific areas such as niche identification, competitor analysis, strategic positioning, or overall market direction. The scope is agreed upfront so the report answers the questions that matter most to you at this stage.

Who this is for

The Sector Insight & Opportunity Report is suitable for:

  • pre-startups deciding where to focus first or to help underpin a Business Plan or Funding applications where informed, current detail is critical

  • new businesses shaping their positioning

  • growing businesses reviewing priorities or direction

  • established businesses that feel stable but unclear on what comes next

  • businesses planning a new website and wanting stronger foundations and targeted 'messaging' and insights for customer journeys (great UX)

Why this approach works

The Sector Insight & Opportunity Report draws on over 30 years of experience working across a wide range of industries, business models, and growth stages.

The value of the report is not in collecting data, but in recognising patterns, interpreting what matters, and understanding how markets behave in practice – particularly for owner-led and growing businesses.

This experience-led perspective helps cut through noise, avoid false assumptions, and focus attention on opportunities that are realistic, relevant, and worth acting on.

HOW IT WORKS

Once your purchase is complete, you’ll be invited to book a 15-minute consultation.

This short call is used to:

  • confirm your sector and geographic focus

  • agree the areas you want the report to concentrate on (for example niche analysis, competitors, or strategic direction)

  • clarify any specific questions you want the report to address

The agreed focus is then confirmed in writing before any research begins, so expectations are clear on both sides.

Once scope is agreed:

  • a delivery timescale is confirmed

  • research and analysis begins

  • the report is prepared and delivered as a professionally presented PDF

Typical turnaround is 5–7 working days from scope confirmation, depending on complexity.

PAYMENT & REFUNDS (TERMS)

Payment
This is a fixed-price service and is paid in advance. Work begins once payment has been received and scope has been agreed.

Discount with website builds

If a website build is commissioned after the report has been delivered, the 20% discount is refunded.

Refunds
If the work has not yet started, a full refund may be available.

Once research and analysis has begun, refunds are assessed based on the stage reached:

  • where less than 50% of the work has been completed, a pro-rata refund may be offered

  • where more than 50% of the work has been completed, the service is non-refundable

This reflects the time, research, and professional judgement involved in producing the report.

SCOPE & CAVEAT

The Sector Insight & Opportunity Report is a decision-support document.

It is based on:

  • desk research

  • sector and competitor analysis

  • experience-led interpretation

The report provides insight, context, and recommendations, not guarantees or forecasts. It does not include implementation, execution, performance monitoring, or responsibility for business outcomes.

Findings reflect the market and information available at the time of research. Markets, competitors, and conditions can change, and the report should be used as an informed input into decision-making rather than a fixed prescription.

VALIDITY & TIMING

The insights and recommendations in the Sector Insight & Opportunity Report are intended to support current or near-term decisions.

As such:

  • the report is considered valid for 3 months from delivery

  • after this period, market conditions, competitors, or priorities may have shifted

If you wish to revisit or update the report after this time, this would be treated as a new or follow-on piece of work, scoped separately.

Rinse, Repeat
We would normally recommend that this exercise is carried out annually at least to stay ahead of any important 'moving and shaking' in your industry. This best aligns to lead into your business planning process.
