The Birth of Pearl the Sheep: Revamping a Chunky Knit Brand

A small chunky knitting business sought a brand refresh and got a transformation. With AI-generated Pearl the Sheep as the new face, we created a standout visual identity and further developed some business strategy fundamentals which secured over £10,000 in development funding.

The Challenge

Outdated Static Website

Home-grown, lacking user-focused features and was very difficult to navigate and find things. The important elements were hidden. Products were also underwhelming in presentation - no features or benefits.

One-Way Communication

The content was outdated and had remained static for a long time. No fresh insights, no blogs or other engaging elements.

Growth Obstacles

As with many small businesses there were time and resource restraints. Additional pressure from 'cheap imports' competing. Making it really important to highlight the unique benefits of the product range: hand-crafted, made in the UK.

The Approach

Business Plan

We started with the foundations and created a comprehensive business plan, securing £10,000 funding. 

Website Architecture

We did the user research and revamped the site structure completely to make it easier to use and for customers to find the important stuff.

Communications

We created a whole new look and feel using strong AI-generated imagery. We also put in place content elements that could be regularly refreshed; such as a newsletter and a blog.

Contact

We created a full customer database to enable regular contact, as well as setting up dedicated subscription forms. So this went from zero to over 500 contacts very quickly.
